If you asked me how I feel about the Arabian horse I would tell you it is one of the most beautiful breeds, to me, but I would also assert they are one of the most intelligent too. It makes the process of working with these wonderful animals even more exciting.
My many years in this field have exposed me to hundreds, if not thousands, of Arabian Horses and they have all contributed to my ideas about where we feel the breed ought to be headed. But breeding is also its own art form in that it involves a good deal of personal preference. Though we definitely tailor our program to our own vision we also try to take into consideration the industry's future. We'll always try very hard to keep fresh ideas in mind while working with the Luxemere program but will also do our best to stay true to the essence of the Arabian breed.
I honestly hope our work here at Luxemere Arabians, along with the work of everyone in the Arabian horse world, will continue to bring these lovely animals to new heights and entice new generations into having the same love and appreciation for animals which are so incredibly special.

There's no friend better than a dog. A dog loves you no matter what you do, comes when you call, licks you when you're hurt, and comforts you when you're down. Well, all that's true but then I'd never met an Arabian. Oh, don't misunderstand me, I still love dogs, German Sheppards to be exact, but now I see that nothing will ever quite be like an Arabian horse.
I sometimes wish I'd been around to see the first ones...herds galloping across a great, open plain. What a site that must have been. But then I would have missed the joy of throwing my arms around the neck of a new baby; making a new friend for life. It's hard to top.
Another wonderful part about an Arabian is its intelligence. They're so smart. You can see it in their eyes, which tell it all.
But they give us more. The show ring; oh, there's nothing as exciting as a ring full of Arabians, is there? Park, Native...fancy animals. Once you get used to seeing those delicate faces, upright postures, animated gaits, nothing else will ever quite hit you the same way.
10 years ago when we bought our first Arabian I had no idea what I was in for; no indeed. Picking stalls in the middle of winter, tossing bales of hay in the middle of summer, and waiting up all night because you were just sure this was the night that baby would be born. No? Well then, tomorrow.
But who would think an animal so costly on so many levels could ever make your life so full. And dare I say it, well worth all the trouble! I can only tell you this, don't bring them into your life if you ever expect to get them back out. You'll never stop being thrilled by an Arabian horse. To that I can attest without reservation.
